With the witches brew that is the World Golf Rankings, Tiger Woods is set to lose his number one ranking to Lee Westwood October 31. That’s when enough points from Woods’ past victories expire, dropping him behind the challengers.
But Westwood himself soon could be surpassed by Germany’s Martin Kaymer with a win at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters.
I’m not sold on Lee Westwood as the World’s Best Player. He had two seconds in Majors in 2010, and two T3s in 2009. But he’s totaled just five top tens in the last 24 Majors. He has nearly as many missed cuts (four) as top tens in those Majors. Kaymer at least has a Major.
